A 4mm scale narrow gauge Isle of Man layout by Roger Elkin.

PORT ELKIN

Scale/gauge: 4mm scale, 12mm gauge (representing 3ft narrow gauge)

Description:"Port Elkin" is a fictitious location on the Isle of Man inspired by holidays on the island. The layout depicts both the 3ft gauge steam railway and the Manx Electric Railway in an urban setting. Most of the buildings are based on real ones in Ramsey and Peel and are laser-cut from plastic. Locos and rolling stock are Branchlines and Worsley Works kits. Track is Peco 12mm , with points operated by the wire-in-tube method. Thanks are due to Roy Fletcher, Roy Mears and Allan Howell for their help in building the layout.

Size of layout: 8ft long x 1ft 6ins  deep

Floor area required: 8ft x 5ft (operated from the back)

Power requirements: 1 x 13amp socket.

Furniture requirements: The layout has its own trestles, but needs 2 chairs for the operators.

Transport requirements: 1 car
